To provide the student with knowledge and understanding of the general
structure of metals, and factors affecting weldability of a range of metals
used in the fabrication of boilers, unfired pressure vessels and steel
structures to syllabus Item 8 of AS 1796 - SAA Welder Certificate Code,
Certificate No 10; syllabus Item 4 of AS 2214 - The Certification of Welding
and the WTIA's specification for Welding Inspectors.
