Packaging Rules
To attain a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Financial Practice Support) thirteen (13) units must be achieved.4 Industry Core units, plus
4 Sectoral Core units, plus
5 Elective units (at least)
The 5 electives may be selected as follows:
- all 5 elective units may be selected from the list of units suitable at Certificate IV level.
- of the 5 elective units, up to 1 unit may be selected from the list of units suitable at Diploma level and up to 1 unit may be selected from the list of units suitable at Certificate III level.
- of the 5 elective units, up to 3 units may be selected from other endorsed Training Packages in accordance with other packaging guidelines for this qualification.
- the choice of electives should be appropriate to the level and integrity of the qualification and to the workplace outcomes it is designed to meet.
- if ASIC Tier 2 compliance is sought, the two ASIC aligned units FNSASIC301B Establish client relationship and analyse needs, and FNSASIC302B Develop, present and negotiate client solutions, must be selected.
- if Authorised Representative status is required at Tier 1, the ASIC aligned unit FNSASIC503ZB Provide advice in Financial Planning, must be demonstrated. Please note that FNSASIC503ZB is a Diploma level unit which has 5 Diploma level pre-requisite units. Only one of these 6 Diploma level units will count towards the awarding of a Certificate IV.
