Description

The MSM20216 Certificate II in Manufacturing Technology applies to a learning and assessment environment where access to normal production operations is not available. A typical environment will be for application in a VET in Schools delivery environment or other simulated or trial manufacturing environment where a high degree of supervision exists. The units are suitable for delivery in a school environment and for schools to contextualise the units to local manufacturing industry activities.

Packaging Rules
To be awarded the MSM20216 Certificate II in Manufacturing Technology, competency must be achieved in ten (10) units of competency:
- five (5) core units of competency
- five (5) elective units of competency, chosen as described below:
- a minimum of one (1) unit must be selected from each of Group A and B
- the remaining three (3) electives may be chosen from Groups A, B and C, with a maximum of two (2) from Group C

Note: that the manufacturing technology units coded MSMPCII (in Group B) are designed for use only in a Pathways qualification or Skill Set. They should not be used in other instances as replacements for units that have direct job outcomes.
