This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a range of high level evaluation and assessment functions in the vehicle loss assessing industry.

Total number of units = seventeen (17)
- eleven (11) core units
- six (6) elective units, of which:
- up to six (6) elective units may be chosen from the elective units listed below
- up to three (3) elective units may be chosen from a Certificate III qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course, provided that the units chosen contribute to the vocational outcome of this qualification and do not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification.

Those undertaking Certificate IV in Vehicle Loss Assessing are required to have completed an automotive Certificate III qualification in one of the following disciplines.
