Description

To develop a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry so that
graduates are able to apply their skills and knowledge in the business
environment, ultimately at a management level.

To develop a sound social, cultural, environmental and economic awareness of
tourism development, plus effective personal and interpersonal communication
skills with emphasis on human resource management principles, in order to
foster a commitment to service quality in the workplace.

To enable graduates to seek employment opportunities leading to supervisory
positions in the tourism industry.

1 To successfully complete this course, students must complete the
following:

- all core subjects (Core A requirements and Core B
requirements)
- Group 1 Electives (minimum 51 hours)
- Group 2 Tourism stream (381 hours)

OR

Group 3 Environmental and Cultural Tourism stream (382 hours)

- Group 4 Electives (minimum 150 hours).

2 Elective subjects may be chosen from any accredited TAFE award course
(or equivalent as approved by the College Director) to suit the vocational
needs of the student.
