Description
Students should be able to:
-identify and name common plant parts
-list the important functions of these plant parts
-describe in simple terms, the main processes of plants
-name and describe twenty plants relevant to their needs.

Range of Variables
Delivery to take place in a classroom situation or suitable workplace situation
with ready access to field areas/gardens/nurseries with a large range of plant
specimens for observation and examination.
Some plants will need to be specially prepared for Learning Outcome 2.
To allow credible competency-based training and assessment the class size MUST
NOT exceed fifteen learners.

Evidence Guide
Internal Assessment 100%
The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.
This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
student achievement.
Assessment will be based on a selection of the following:
-workbook exercises
-exercises on identification of plant parts
-specimen sheets of the selected plants
-practical tests on plant parts and identification of plants
-written tests.
Standard: 75% for each Learning Outcome
The learner is required to demonstrate competency in each of the learning
outcomes in line with the assessment method shown.
This subject is to be assessed internally using competence as a measure of
student achievement.
