Description
To provide learners with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to apply
fundamental marketing principles within the tourism industry.

Range of Variables
This module provides for delivery both on and off-the-job in a variety of
modes. Teaching strategies should reflect the learning outcomes and the needs
of the learner.
Some areas of content may be common to more than one learning outcome and
therefore integration of delivery and assessment may be appropriate.
Care should be taken by the teacher/instructor to ensure that unnecessary
duplication does not occur and that the material is delivered at the
appropriate level.
Assessment does not have to take place at the end of every learning outcome.
Learning outcomes can be grouped together for assessment.
Practical demonstration of competence can be on-the-job or off-the-job in the
form of role plays.
Tests should only apply to the knowledge component of competency. Results of
tests should reflect sufficient knowledge and understanding to demonstrate
competence.
