Description
This qualification covers workers who are operational in a range of Population Health projects/programs. Workers at this qualification level apply competencies normally used within established routines, methods and procedures in the fulfilment of work likely to be allocated by a Population Health professional. These workers contribute to the work of others through teamwork and coordination. This qualification is suited to Australian Apprenticeships pathways.
Occupational titles for these workers may include:
Registry officer, cancer surveillance
Outreach worker, needle and syringe exchange program
Disease control officer
Indigenous support worker
Assistant project officer
Allied health assistant/community worker
Team support worker

Packaging Rules
15 units of competency are required for award of this qualification, including:- 6 core units
- 9 elective units
A wide range of elective units is available, including:
- Group A electives which are recommended for culturally aware and respectful practice
- Group B electives - at least 5 units required from this group
- Other relevant electives listed in the qualification outline
- Units of competency to address workplace requirements and packaged at the level of this qualification or higher in Health and/or Community Services Training Packages
- Where appropriate, to address workplace requirements, up to 3 units of
competency packaged at the level of this qualification or higher in other relevant Training Packages or accredited courses where the details of those courses are available on the NTIS or other public listing
