State Implementation and Classification
Description
This course is intended to provide participants with the combination of creative, conceptual and applied design skills for a manufacturing/ production environment that calls for innovation, creativity, sustainability and responsiveness to the social, cultural, economic and global manufacturing context.
Schedule
To enter this qualification, people must have:
- successful achievement of a Diploma qualification in a related design industry discipline, including:
- Diploma of Industrial Design
- Diploma of Product Design
- LMF50202 Diploma of Furnishing Technology
- LMF50207 Diploma of Furniture Design and Technology
OR
- equivalent skills and knowledge acquired through experience in an industrial design or related workplace or through formal study
PACKAGING RULES
To achieve the qualification Advanced Diploma of Industrial Design the learner must complete twenty four (24) units:
- eleven (11) core and
- thirteen (13) Electives from Groups A and B.
- Up to four (4) of the thirteen (13) elective units may be imported from relevant Training Package qualifications or accredited courses, where the units are relevant to the course outcomes, and were first packaged at Certificate IV (maximum one (1) unit), Diploma (maximum two (2) units) or Advanced Diploma (maximum four (4) units).

2. Elective units - Group A
Learners to select at least 9 units and a maximum of 13 from Group A.
3. Elective Units - Group B
Learners to complete a maximum of 4 units. Units must be aligned at Certificate IV level (maximum 1 unit), Diploma level (maximum 2 units) or Advanced Diploma level (up to 4 units).
