State Implementation and Classification
Description
This course is intended to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to perform the following tasks associated with working in an automated workplace.
It will equip current and prospective workers with the underpinning knowledge and skills to demonstrate necessary awareness of what an autonomous workplace is, how it operates, what unique safety systems are present, how the human-machine interface operates and what, why and how data is used within such workplaces. It embraces an overview of the historical development of automation, an in-depth coverage of current automation and insight into some future extensions.

A Statement of Attainment will be issued for any unit of competency if the full course is not completed.
Course Structure:
Total number of units to achieve the qualification = ten (10)
- Five (5) core units
- Five (5) elective units
- One (1) elective unit must be chosen from Group A relevant to the Resources sector in which it is to be applied
- Four (4) electives may be chosen from the elective units listed in Group B
Or
- Four (4) electives may be chosen from any other current Training Package or accredited course provided they do not duplicate the outcome of other units chosen.
- No more than two (2) electives may be chosen from a Certificate III or higher qualification
Elective units selected to make up this qualification must reflect current occupational and learning outcomes of this AQF qualification level
Elective units must be relevant to the automated workplace in which they are to be applied
Where a chosen elective unit has pre-requisite units the requirements of the host training package must be met.
