Description
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of service and repair tasks on outdoor power equipment. It is suitable for entry into the outdoor power equipment mechanical service and repair industry.
Job roles and employment outcomes
The Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology prepares new employees, and develops existing workers, to perform service and repair roles in the outdoor power equipment mechanical service and repair industry.
Job roles related to this qualification include:
outdoor power equipment technicians
repair technicians.
The work may also include tasks related to operating a business and/or supervising others.
Application
This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Packaging Rules
To be awarded this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in thirty six (36) units of competency, consisting of:- fifteen (15) core units
- twenty one (21) elective units, of which:
- up to twenty one (21) units may be chosen from the elective units list
- up to six (6) units may be chosen from a Certificate II qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course, provided that the units chosen contribute to the vocational outcome of this qualification and do not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification.
1. Core Units
All fifteen (15) units must be completed.
2. Elective Units
Up to twenty one (21) units may be chosen from the elective units list.
