This qualification is designed for job roles in the sawmilling and processing sector of the forest and forest products industry.

Total number of units = twenty seven (27)
- nine (9) core units plus
- eighteen (18) elective units, consisting of:
- thirteen (13) units from Group A
- up to five (5) units from Group B
- up to two (2) units recommended for packaging at Certificate II, III or IV level from this or any other endorsed Training Package or state/territory accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to work undertaken in the woodmachining sector of the industry
