Description
This qualification covers workers employed by State Ambulance authorities and non-emergency transport companies to provide emergency and non-emergency client care and transport services.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTSTo gain entry into this HLT50412 Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) a candidate must demonstrate competence through a recognised training program or recognition process, in the following units of competency:
BSBFLM303C Contribute to effective workplace relationships
HLTAMBAE403D Follow procedures for routine safe removal of client
HLTAMBCR401C Deliver basic clinical care (Note pre-requ: HLTAP401B)
HLTAMBFC301D Communicate with clients and colleagues to support health care
HLTAMBSC401B Manage routine scene and promote public safety
HLTAMBT301B Transport non-emergency clients under operational conditions
HLTAP401B Confirm physical health status
HLTIN301C Comply with infection control policies and procedures
HLTWHS300A Contribute to WHS processes
PACKAGING RULES
Fourteen (14) units of competency are required for this qualification, including:
- seven (7) core units
- seven (7) elective units
A wide range of elective units is available, including:
- Group A electives which are recommended for culturally aware and respectful practice
- Other relevant electives listed
- Units of competency to address workplace requirements and packaged at the level of this qualification or higher in Health and/or Community Services Training Packages
- Where appropriate, to address workplace requirements, up to two (2) units of competency packaged at the level of this qualification or higher in other relevant Training Packages or accredited courses where the details of those courses are available on TGA or other public listing
