Description
The Diploma of Management (Public Sector) is designed for people already working in one of the governments sectors to enable them to cope better with the changes occurring and the increasing demands placed upon them. These people generally have a management/supervisory role or will be about to undertake one. The course will also be available for those people who wish to work in the public sector and thus gain some important skills prior to employment.
The course aims to provide generic core skills in the areas of managing people, resource management, personal performance and occupational health and safety (from a management perspective) as well as a knowledge of the public service context relevant to a changing work environment at any of the three levels of government.
Specific knowledge and skills relating to accountability, public processes and public sector accounting and finance will be addressed.
