This module provides for delivery by off-the-job training in a variety of modes.

Strategies should be selected to reflect the nature of the learning outcomes
and the needs of the learner.

Delivery methods should be selected which enhance learning and allow sufficient
time for CBT assessment. All assessment criteria are to be tested. All
assessment criteria have equal standing or “weight”. One assessment
instrument may be used to test a number of assessment criteria.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance arises from three elements of the training environment:

- National CBT curricula with learning outcomes and assessment criteria
- skilled assessors (as per NTB standards)
- assessment principles.

National maintenance of standards will occur when skilled assessors assess the
performance of learners against the assessment criteria using the assessment
principles.

Under each learning outcome a number of assessment methods is listed. This
list is not intended to be exhaustive, but gives an indication of some
appropriate methods of assessing particular learning outcomes.

The learning outcomes within this module interact with each other and are
closely aligned with each other. Consequently, where possible, the learning
outcomes should be assessed holistically. As indicated in the assessment
method, the learning outcomes of this module are appropriate to being assessed
on-the-job.
