Description
This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, wall and floor tiling. Tilerswork with materials likeceramic, glass, slate, marble and clay.Theycut these materials and lay tiles onwallsand floors, both interior and exterior.Theymay also add decorative touches to their basic work.

State and territory jurisdictions may have different licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements. Relevant state and territory regulatory authorities should be consulted to confirm those requirements.
This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.
Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia modelCode of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001Prepare to work safely in the construction industrymeets this requirement.

Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must demonstrate competency in- Twenty (20) units of competency:
- Seventeen (17) core units
- Three (3) elective units.
Electives must be selected as follows:
- All three (3) units from the electives listed, or
- Two (2) units from the electives listed, plus one (1) unit selected from any current training package or accredited course as long as it contributes to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome, maintains the integrity of the AQF level of this qualification and does not duplicate the outcome of another unit used to achieve this qualification.
