1.
A total of 8 units must be completed plus either 4 elective units, all the units from the Skipper 2 Group (Group R) or 14 elective units (Group E). Consisting of 4 Core Units and 8 Fishing specialist Units (Group B).

2.
FISHING SPECIALIST UNITS A total of 12 units must be completed including 4 from this unit with a minimum of 1 unit from each of the vessel operations and fishing operations functional areas and 2 units from the specialised management systems functional area.

A total of 8 units must be completed plus either 4 elective units and all the units from the Skipper 2 group (Group R) or 13 elective units (Group E). The elective units for both options must be selcted from a combination of: Group B Fishing specialist units not yet selected for this qualification, Group E electives, Certificate III in Seafood Industry (Fishing Operations) - maximum 1 unit, Diploma of Seafood Industry (Fishing Operations) - maximum of 1 unit, Certificate IV in Seafood Industry (Fishing Charter Operations) - maximum of 1 unit, Certificate IV level or higher, from this or any other Training Package - maximum of 2 units. Units must be Relevant to workplace needs.

SKIPPER 2 GROUP OF UNITS A total of 8 units must be completed plus either 4 elective units and all the units from the Skipper 2 group (Group R) or 13 elective units (Group E). The elective units for both options must be selcted from a combination of: Group B Fishing specialist units not yet selected for this qualification, Group E electives, Certificate III in Seafood Industry (Fishing Operations) - maximum 1 unit, Diploma of Seafood Industry (Fishing Operations) - maximum of 1 unit, Certificate IV in Seafood Industry (Fishing Charter Operations) - maximum of 1 unit, Certificate IV level or higher, from this or any other Training Package - maximum of 2 units. Units must be Relevant to workplace needs. The Master 5/Skipper 3 Certificate of Comptency is a prerequisite requirement for the Skipper 2 Certificate pf Competency/
