Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of heavy commercial vehicles in the automotive service and repair sector.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Packaging Rules
Total number of units = Thirty six (36)- Twenty two (22) core units, plus
- Fourteen (14) elective units, of which:
- one (1) unit must be from one of the Specialist Elective Groups A or B below
- of the remaining thirteen (13) units required to make up the elective unit total:
- up to thirteen (13) may be from the Specialist Elective Groups and/or the general elective units listed below
- up to six (6) may be from a Certificate II qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
Elective units chosen must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid vocational outcome.
1. Core
All twenty two (22) core units must be completed.
2. Group A: Heavy Vehicle Manual Transmission
One (1) unit must be chosen from one of the Specialist Elective Groups A or B.

Traineeships and Apprenticeships
Part-time is defined as a minimum of 20 hours per week.
For elite athletes the minimum hours of employment are 7.5 hours per week, which can be averaged over six month periods.
