Description

This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required for road transport trainers who will be training individuals or groups in cars, heavy vehicles or motorcycles. This qualification is not for the public to gain a driver’s licence.
Job Roles:
Job roles and titles vary across different sectors. Possible job roles relevant to this qualification include:
car driving trainer
heavy vehicle driving trainer
motorcycle rider trainer.
Please note: RTO to insert on the testamur, the relevant specialisation elective unit group selected from the group choice below.
This qualification may meet part of the state/territory licensing and regulatory requirements for certification as a Motor Vehicle Driver Trainer. Candidates will need to refer to the relevant state/territory licensing authority.

Packaging Rules
Specialisation Group A (Car) consisting of a total of twelve (12) units comprising of:
- five (5) core units listed below, plus
- all units of competency from Group A.

Specialisation Group B (Heavy Vehicle) consisting of a total of eleven (11) units comprising of:
- five (5) core units listed below, plus
- all units of competency from Group B, plus
- one (1) unit from Group D, plus
- one (1) unit from Group E general electives or from a relevant nationally endorsed Training Package.

Specialisation Group C (Motorcycle) consisting of a total of nine (9) units comprising of:
- five (5) core units listed below, plus
- all units from Group C, plus
- one (1) unit from Group E general electives or from a relevant nationally endorsed Training Package.

The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcome of the qualification.

Where an imported unit is selected, care must be taken to ensure all prerequisite units specified are complied with.

Where a prerequisite is attached to a unit it is identified on training.gov.au (TGA) website.
