Description
This qualification provides for a specialisation in either Cleaning Management or Specialty Cleaning and Restoration. It reflects the role of cleaning industry personnel who use well developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of cleaning contexts. They may be responsible for:
wide-ranging operational cleaning management activity and for managing staff, providing quotations, planning and overseeing work and providing customer support.
or
wide-ranging speciality cleaning and restoration, providing high level technical skills to clean and restore fire, smoke and water damage to structures and contents; remediate mould, and decontaminate clandestine drug, trauma and crime scene sites.
The RTO is to insert the specialisation on the testamur, either:
CPP40421 Certificate IV in Cleaning (Management)
or
CPP40421 Certificate IV in Cleaning (Specialty Cleaning and Restoration).
No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of endorsement.

Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competence must be demonstrated in fourteen (14) units of competency consisting of:- four (4) core units
- ten (10) elective units.
For a specialisation in Cleaning Management, electives are to be selected as follows:
- four (4) core units
- a minimum of five (5) units from Group A
- an additional five (5) units from Group A, Group B and/or Group C.
Up to two (2) of these five (5) elective units from Group A, Group B and/or Group C may be selected from any current training package or accredited course provided they contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome, maintain the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level of this qualification and do not duplicate the outcome of another unit used to achieve the qualification.
For a specialisation in Specialty Cleaning and Restoration,electives are to be selected as follows:
- four (4) core units
- a minimum of five (5) units from Group B
- an additional five (5) units from Group A, Group B and/or Group C.
Up to two (2) of the five (5) elective units from Group A, Group B and/or Group C may be selected from any current training package or accredited course provided they contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome, maintain the AQF level of this qualification and do not duplicate the outcome of another unit used to achieve the qualification.
