Description

This specialist qualification covers the competencies required of road transport regulatory staff. The qualification has 4 separate streams to cater for staff in inspection, access, intelligence and multi-skilled roles.
Electives should be chosen to reflect the responsibilities of the individual and the job skills required for effective performance. Where a free choice of electives is possible in the packaging rules electives may be chosen to reflect the work context and career plans of the individual. Training delivery and assessment related to this qualification must be contextualised to the road transport regulatory environment.

Choose an elective stream first, then follow the packaging rules for that stream:

1) INSPECTION STREAM
Fifteen (15) units of competency are required for this stream:
- three (3) core units, and
- all three (3) inspection stream units, and
- one (1) unit from Group A Safety, and
- two (2) units from Group B Inspection stream (road transport compliance), and
- two (2) units from Group C Inspection stream (regulatory), and
- four (4) units from Group B, C or D Inspection (general) or from anywhere within this Training Package, or from another endorse Training Package or accredited course at this qualification level or higher, expect as stated.
Note: If not already listed, a maximum of one (1) unit may be selected from Certificate III.

2) ACCESS STREAM
Fifteen (15) units of competency are required for this stream:
- three (3) core units, and
- all four (4) access stream units, and
- one (1) unit from Group A Safety electives, and
- seven (7) units from Group E Access stream or from anywhere within this Training Package, or from another endorse Training Package or accredited course at this qualification level or higher, unless otherwise stated.
Note: if not already listed, a maximum of one (1) unit may be selected from Certificate III.

3) INTELLIGENCE STREAM
Fifteen (15) units of competency are required for this stream:
- three (3) core units, and
- all our (4) intelligence stream units, and
- one (1) unit from Group A Safety, and
- seven (7) units from Group F Intelligence, alternatively, up to four (4) units may be taken from anywhere within this Training Package, or from another endorse Training Package or accredited course at this qualification level or higher, unless otherwise stated.
Note: if not already listed, a maximum of one (1) unit may be selected from Certificate III.

4) MULTI-SKILLED STREAM
Fifteen (15) units of competency are required for this stream including:
- three (3) core units, and
- the two (2) units listed, and
- one (1) unit from Group A Safety, and
- nine (9) units from Group G Multi-skilled, alternatively, up to three (3) electives may be taken from anywhere within this Training Package, or from another endorse Training Package or accredited course at this qualification level or higher, unless otherwise stated.
Note: If not already listed, a maximum of one unit may be selected from Certificate III.


Elective units selected from other Training Packages or accredited courses must not duplicate
units selected from or available within PSP12 Public Sector Training Package.
