Description

The course provides initial training for Dressmaking
Assistants employed in small businesses, or in
fabric stores. It equips the student with the
skills needed to adjust and adapt patterns to a
variety of figure types and to simple styles, and
the use of commercial methods of garment
construction and finish.

Later stages of the course provide further training
in pattern making, adaption and fitting, specialised
garment construction and finish methods and skills
in a range of related areas to enhance employment
opportunities.
