Description

This qualification is designed for job roles in the sawmilling and processing sector of the forest and forest products industry.
Job roles
This qualification has three employment pathways for typical operational environments of sawmilling and processing. These are:
Saw Maker
Saw Repairer
Sawdoctor
Licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements may apply to units in this qualification in some states & territories at the time of publication and may differ according to jurisdiction.
Some imported units in the elective bank may be subject to licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements. These units must be implemented in line with the licensing requirements outlined in the unit’s parent Training Package.

Packaging Rules
To be awarded the FWP30716 Certificate III in Sawdoctoring, competency must be achieved in twenty six (26) units of competency.
- ten (10) core units of competency
- sixteen (16) units of competency from the elective group, the total of which can include up to two (2) units recommended for packaging at Certificate II, III or IV level from this or any other endorsed Training Package or state/territory accredited course.
Elective units must be relevant to work undertaken in the sawmilling and processing sector of the industry.
