This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of mobile plant machinery in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Packaging Rules
Total number of units = Thirty six (36)
- Nine (9) core units, plus
- Twenty seven (27) elective units, of which:
- all units in one of the Specialist Elective Groups A to C must be chosen
- of the remaining units required to make up the unit total:
- all may be from the Specialist Elective Groups and general elective units listed below
- up to six (6) may be from a Certificate II qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
Elective units chosen must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid vocational outcome.
Specialisations
Where relevant, specialisations can be used in this qualification for:
- Mobile Plant Equipment
- Forklift
- Elevating Work Platform
The achievement of a specialisation will be identified on testamurs as follows:
- AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (Mobile Plant Equipment)
- AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (Forklift)
- AUR31220 Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (Elevating Work Platform)
Mobile Plant Equipment specialisation
Select all units listed in Specialist Elective Group A.
- Nine (9) core units, plus
