Description
This is a general qualification for a person engaged in basic operations within the rail infrastructure environment undertaking a range of tasks involving known routines and procedures, and taking some responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

Packaging Rules
A total of sixteen (16) units of competency comprising:- Six (6) core units listed below, plus
- All units within one of the specialist elective unit groups (job roles) from Group A, Group B, Group C or Group D listed below, plus
- Three (3) general elective units from Group E listed below if selecting Group A or Group C, or
- Four (4) general elective units from Group E listed below if selecting Group B, or
- Six (6) general elective units from Group E listed below if selecting Group D.
- Up to two (2) general elective units may be selected from any relevant nationally endorsed Training Package. The general elective units must contribute to the vocational outcomes of the qualification.
Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with.
The following imported units have prerequisite units:
- CPCCCM2007 Use explosive power tools - CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
- CPCCCM2008 Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding - CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry
- MEM12023 Perform engineering measurements - MEM13015 Work safely and effectively in manufacturing and engineering
- MEM16006 Organise and communicate information.
