Description
This qualification desdribes the skills and knowledge required for entry level workers in the sugar milling industry. These workers carry out routine work, under supervision, in a range of areas including sugar processing, cane supply and transport, and milling services.
All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures, in accordance with state/territory food safety, health and safety and environmental codes, regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.
No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Packaging Rules
To achieve this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in:- sixteen (16) units of competency:
- three (3) core units, plus
- thirteen (13) elective units.
Elective units must ensure the integrity of the qualification’s Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) alignment and contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome. The electives are to be chosen as follows:
- at least six (6) from the electives listed below
- up to seven (7) may be selected from this or any other currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course.
