Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals with the cognitive and communication skills to transmit dance skills and knowledge to others. At this level individuals are expected to apply theory and creative skills in different teaching environments and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities. They have autonomy in performing complex technical operations and can be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad but generally well-defined parameters.
The job roles that relate to this qualification may include dance fitness instructor, dance teacher, or dance studio teacher or manager.

Total number of units = Fifteen (15)
- Seven (7) core units plus
- Eight (8) elective units, of which:
- at least five (5) units must be selected from Group A
- of the remaining elective units, all may be selected from Group A and/or Group B

- up to two (2) may be selected from this or any other currently endorsed Diploma or above training package qualification or accredited course

- one (1) may be selected from this or any other currently endorsed Certificate IV or above training package qualification or accredited course.

Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, maintain the overall integrity of the AQF alignment, not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification, and contribute to a valid industry-supported vocational outcome.
