Description
Job roles/employment outcomes
The Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology covers occupations such as fashion designers and design support roles. A pathway can also be packaged to cover employment outcomes in advanced patternmaking and merchandising for those working in fashion related sales, marketing, retail buying and supply chain management.
Application
This qualification is designed to be both an entry level qualification in fashion design and related skills and further development for those in support and merchandising areas.
Pathways into the qualification
Direct entry into this qualification requires completion of a total of thirty-five (35) units.
Credit may be granted towards this qualification by those who have completed LMT41007 Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology or achieved equivalent industry experience.
Pathways from the qualification
Further training pathways from this qualification include LMT60307 Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology or other relevant qualifications.
Licensing considerations

Packaging Rules
To be awarded the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology, competency must beachieved in thirty-five (35) units of competency.
- Ten (10) core units of competency
- Twenty-five (25) elective units of competency as specified below.

- A minimum of nineteen (19) units must be selected from Group A
- A maximum of six (6) units may be selected from Group B
- Other Medical Grade Footwear units that are available at Certificates IV (maximum 1), V (maximum 2) or VI (maximum 1)
- Other TCF Training Package units that are available at Certificates IV (maximum 1), V (maximum 2) or VI (maximum 1)
- Units from other endorsed Training Packages and accredited courses at Certificates IV (maximum 1), V (maximum 2) or VI (maximum 1)
- The remainder must be selected from Group A.
