Description

This qualification provides individuals with technical and non-technical aviation skills to operate and supervise effectively in a broad range of ground operations and service roles.
Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known and stable contexts within established parameters.

Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Aerodromes)
Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Cabin Crew)
Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Ground Operations)
Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Flight Operations)
Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Security Screening)
Use for Defence Aviation is to be in accordance with relevant Defence Orders, instructions, publications and regulations.
Occupations may include:
Aerodrome operations supervisor
Aviation supervisor
Aviation security supervisor
Cabin supervisor
Cargo supervisor
Customer service supervisor
Ground operations supervisor
Ramp operations supervisor/Flight dispatcher
Operations supervisor.

Packaging Rules

A total twenty (20) units of competency comprising:

- twelve (12) core units listed below, plus

- eight (8) elective units, consisting of:
- five (5) units from either Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D or Group E, plus
- three (3) elective units from the general elective units or units from the groups not already selected.

Up to two (2) of the elective units may be selected, with appropriate contextualisation, from a qualification in this or any other endorsed Training Package or accredited course, provided selected units contribute to the vocational outcome of the qualification.

Where imported units are selected, care must be taken to ensure that all prerequisite units specified are complied with.

Specialisations
Candidates may specialise in a specific stream by completing the core units and elective units from one of the following:

- Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Aerodromes) = twelve (12) core units plus five (5) Group A units plus three (3) units from anywhere in this qualification
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Cabin Crew) = twelve (12) core units plus five (5) Group B units plus three (3) units from anywhere in this qualification
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Ground Operations) = twelve (12) core units plus five (5) Group C units plus three (3) units from anywhere in this qualification
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Flight Operations) = twelve (12) core units plus five (5) Group D units plus three (3) units from anywhere in this qualification
- Certificate IV in Aviation (Supervision-Security Screening) = twelve (12) core units plus five (5) Group E units plus three (3) units from anywhere in this qualification.
