VET Info Notes
1 This course is a national course developed by Tourism Training
Australia (TTA) and the Australian Committee on Training Curriculum (ACTRAC).
2 Industry Work Experience
In addition to completing all of the above modules, the participant must
undertake industrial work experience of 600 hours to research and complete an
industry based project assignment. The project assignment is contained in the
Module MC16 - Industry Placement. The 600 hours may include 200 hours required
for Certificate IV.
The work experience will typically be paid, part-time work arranged by the
learner and undertaken concurrently with formal study of the modules during the
semesters, in semester breaks or completed full-time on completion of the
program.
Where possible, the range of establishments learners choose for the work
experience should complement the content of the course, however, for practical
reasons some flexibility will be required to meet the availability of
employment within the provider’s specific region.
3 The Module MC16 Industry Placement has 40 hours allocated to it for
lecturer monitoring and assessment of the project assignment. It is not
intended that the learners will attend the off-the-job training provider for
this 40 hours.
