Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks when repairing and maintaining the body of cars, heavy vehicles and other vehicles in the automotive service and repair sector.

Packaging Rules
Total number of units = thirty (30)- sixteen (16) core units, plus
- fourteen (14) elective units, of which:
- eight (8) units from one of the Specialist Elective Unit Groups A to C below must be chosen
- of the remaining units required to make up the elective unit total:
- up to six (6) units may be chosen from the Specialist Elective Unit Groups and the General Elective Units listed below
- up to five (5) units may be chosen from a Certificate II qualification or above in this Training Package or another endorsed Training Package or accredited course, provided that the units chosen contribute to the vocational outcome of this qualification and do not duplicate the outcome of another unit chosen for the qualification.

2. Group A Specialist Elective Units: Vehicle Body Repair
Eight (8) units from one of the Specialist Elective Unit Groups A to C below must be chosen.

Traineeships and Apprenticeships
Part-time is defined as a minimum of 20 hours per week.
For elite athletes the minimum hours of employment are 7.5 hours per week, which can be averaged over six month periods.
